Good evening my dear friends. It’s always nice to stumble upon a lovely, new-to-me illustrator and designer. This is Mengsel, or also London based South African print designer Luzelle van der Westhuizen. ‘Her work is inspired by geometric and hand-drawn patterns, as well as African and Scandinavian design’. She is using traditional silkscreen printing methods in her creations and the outcome is pretty colorful, bright and sometimes whimsical. I love the whale. I could imagine hanging some of Luzelle’s prints in the kids room or my colorful studio.. (*dream*.. I have neither a kidsroom (yet) nor a studio (yet) – just saying..).
Bright red Pop Art inspired pomegranates, polar bears, tropical watermelon prints and the ABC with various patterns will transform the walls of your home into a radiant exhibition. The prints are available on plates, tea towels, mugs or cushions or baby clothes. Take a look yourself and tell me what you think? Are you crushing on a particular illustrator at the moment that I’m maybe also not aware of? Let me know in the comment section. I’m curious.
