A Scandinavian Home

Scandinavian Home_1

Hello my dear friends. How are you? Are you in the mood to get a tour through a bright and cozy Scandinavian home? Of course you are, as we love the Scandinavian decoration style. Am I right? Let’s visit Britta’s home. Britta has the luxury of working at IKEA, so she is practically sitting at the source, yet she doesn’t overload her home with new furniture every month. It’s bright, minimal, cozy, with a pop of color, just as I love it.

I love this room separator. It’s quite common in The Netherlands to have movable doors that separate two rooms. If you are lucky, as I am, you have build-in shelves on each side as well. Great for decoration purposes. I’m still figuring out how I want to decorate them. If I finally decided, I will give you an update. Speaking of.. I have never posted my own home here. This is something I also want to do this year. However, I feel like it can always be better.. do you know this? When this moment kicks in, I want to directly through out all furniture, win a million and re-style everything. Yeah I’m quite resolute here I guess. I just get bored so easily. Ah well, let’s go back to this beautiful home, which makes me think that I could actually need a new side table. I’m looking for a round one, as the rest of my home is rather edgy. Do you prefer round over edgy? I think there needs to be a balance. Though, a round side table serves tranquility next to our corner sofa. In Britta’s living room the round format fits perfectly.

I also admire the pops of color, decent, but still eye catching. I have to admit that this is my favorite color palette: pastel hues with white. Reminds me of cotton candy.

By the way, if you are wondering where to buy the decoration and styling products and some smaller furniture pieces, click here. I spy also some of my favorite brands in Britta’s interior styling: Bloomingville, FermLiving and IKEA Brakig.

Speaking of my favorite color palette, this room brings it all together. All my favorite colors in one picture. I will move in! Dear Britta, I hope you don’t mind.

Now what about you? Are you crushing on specific colors at the moment as well? What do you think are Spring 15’s famous colors? I’m all yours. I’m happy to hear your thoughts in the comment box below. Have a great evening. I’ll be back with some exciting news. Oh you will love them.

At home at Anki from Zilverblauw

Zilverblauw_2 Do you know Zilverblauw? It’s one of my favorite blogs. Have you ever wondered how the founders of Zilverblauw designed their home? I love the bright colors Anki, the owner of Zilverblauw is using on her blog, but also in her home, where she lives with her husband and kids.

Zilverblauw is not only a blog, but also a brand. Anki and her husband are creating cool wooden cutting boards and posters. The most famous ones that go viral on Pinterest are the hope and never grow up print that you might have seen already. If you follow me on Pinterest you will for sure have.

Get the full home tour and recommendations where to buy decoration accessories I spied in Zilverblauw’s home after the jump. Also, I reveal some news at the end of the post. Let’s see whether you find what I’m up to. Continue reading

Discover Rare Bird Amsterdam

Rare Bird Amsterdam Intro Hello friends and decoration lovers. Yesterday I have been shopping at Rare Bird Amsterdam. I’ve always wanted to say Hi to the lovely owner Nancy and her beautiful decoration, gifts and vintage shop on Marnixstraat 127. Finally, I took the time to explore every single corner of this bright and colorful shop – and I enjoyed it. Thank you Nancy for giving me the opportunity to look inside your shop.

Rare Bird is actually celebrating its 2 year anniversary. Definitely, a good time to pass by and check out the pretty honeycombs or lamps from Studio Snowpuppe. I also love the idea of hanging plates onto the wall. And guess what – at Rare Bird Amsterdam you’ll find the material to do so. But you better be quick, cause they are a bestseller on the Dutch market, cause people realized that eating from plates is one thing; but hanging them onto the wall, that’s the real deal.

Read the full story about Nancy and her shop Rare Bird Amsterdam and get decoration ideas with the honeycombs I bought after the jump. Continue reading
